The only preschool in Madison where children grow up in English and Mandarin.
Young children don't study a second language — they absorb it. Our classrooms move between English and Mandarin all day, in songs, stories, counting, and conversation. Children arrive at kindergarten reading and writing in English, with Mandarin foundations most students don't get until high school.

English reading and writing first, plus daily Mandarin — characters, songs, and conversation through the whole day.

Numbers, patterns, sorting, and early problem-solving, taught hands-on and treated as seriously as story time.

Singing every day and group violin for every child, on school-provided instruments. Piano for students ready for more.

Art classes with mixed media, dance, and outdoor play — including group nature hikes.

Music at Einstein isn't background noise. Children sing together every day — folk songs, playful songs, some in Mandarin. When a child's hands and coordination are ready, group violin begins, on instruments the school provides; students who show strong interest and readiness take up piano. The focus, listening, and fine motor control carry into everything else — handwriting, math, confidence. Our director has taught music to young children this way for more than thirty years.
A Sample Day
Every day varies a little, but here's the rhythm.
- 7:30–9:00Drop-off + breakfast
- 9:00–12:00Morning academics (individual and small-group) into free play
- 12:00–1:30Lunch and quiet time
- 1:30–3:00Free play
- 3:00–5:00Art and music
- 5:00–6:00Pickup
Half-day families choose mornings (7:30 am–1:00 pm, through lunch) or afternoons (1:00–6:00 pm). And every day the weather allows, children spend two-plus hours outdoors.
